Christmas Day Snowfall 2009
No snow fell on Christmas Day in 2009 at the Chester Weather Station, so well done to those who voted no in the poll.
Of the 9 official white Christmas Met Office sites, snow fell on Christmas Day at Glasgow, Edinburgh and Birmingham. Snow did not fall at London, Liverpool, Aberdeen, Manchester, Cardiff and Belfast.
Weather PC Failure
The Weather PC which records and graphs the data of the Chester Weather Station suffered a failure of the PSU at 5:08am.
We were able to source a replacement and get the Weather PC up and working at about 9:40am.
Weather data was not recorded between these times and the Skyscape Cam and Lightning Detector were also out of action.
Snow Report
The Chester Weather Station had a little snow this AM, but our Sister site at the Monkspath Weather Station has had heavy snow which is continuing to fall into the evening.
